At Upstate HomeCare, the health and safety of you and our staff remain the top priority in everything we do. We want to assure you that we are taking every measure possible to provide the very best care to all of our patients during this time of uncertainty.
Currently, Upstate HomeCare is working diligently with all vendors and suppliers in an effort to prevent any potential disruptions to your services. We are in regular contact with our local and State Departments of Health as well as monitoring all Federal communications (CDC, NIH, etc.) that are providing guidance regarding this disease. In addition, our staff has taken steps to ensure the cleanliness of our offices, all patient equipment, and supplies to help minimize the spread of the coronavirus within our organization to further protect you and our staff.
In this effort, we ask that if you have an appointment with us and any of the following apply:
- Traveled recently by mass transit (Airline, bus, train, etc.; internationally OR domestically);
- Have a fever, cough, trouble breathing, rash, diarrhea, or feel ill in any way;
- Have been in contact with anyone, including a family member or friend who was ill or confirmed to be diagnosed with COVID-19;
please contact our offices before coming in. We are happy to either ship/deliver your products to you or reschedule your appointment in order to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all patients and staff.
Prevention is a key strategy with any virus, such as this, so it is important to both protect yourself and take measures against spreading to others. You are encouraged to take everyday precautions to prevent illness, including colds and the flu.
- Get a flu shot—it’s not too late.
- Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
- Cover your cough or sneeze with your elbow or a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash.
- Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth.
- Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces
- Sanitize or wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.
- Stay home when you are sick.
- If you feel you need medical care or suspect you have been in contact with someone who has the coronavirus, please contact your medical provider to get instructions on what to do next.
- Avoid gatherings of large crowds of people in close contact with each other.
We will keep you informed of any new developments regarding the coronavirus which could affect you. We want you to know that UHC employees are committed to delivering the quality care you’ve come to trust while we navigate these trying times. Thank you for choosing Upstate HomeCare for your healthcare needs and we ask that you practice the recommended actions above to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.
