As an Intake Representative, you will provide the highest level of service to all customers, responding to each request in a professional manner with a helpful, and positive attitude.

Intake representatives are responsible for the processing and coordination of all new referrals with the main objective being to clear all patients prior to service in order to ensure proper payment in compliance within all legal and regulatory parameters.

This person will ensure accurate, efficient and timely processing of new referrals for services to include, but not be limited to, obtaining all necessary supporting documentation, confirming insurance coverage, coding and pricing of products, documenting patient in applicable computer system, submitting for pre-authorization and coordinating of initial “pushing” of the referral.

Additionally, the Intake Representatives provides support and works collaboratively with referral sources, hospital liaisons, and pharmacy, nursing, and billing and branch personnel.

Work Environment:

  • Primarily office work. Occasional travel for educational purposes.
  • Overtime may be required.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 1- 2 years of customer service experience
  • Proficient computer skills
  • Highly organized with the ability to pay attention to detail
  • Critical thinker
  • Solution orientated with the ability to problem solve
  • Ability to actively listen
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbally
  • Excellent prioritizing and time management skills
  • Comfortable to work in high volume and fast pace environment
  • Displays willingness to multi-task and make quick decisions
  • Self- directed, but able to work in a team environment
  • Math aptitude

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate’s in Business, Health Care Service or Medical Sales, preferred
  • Minimum of one (1) years experience with a home care company; Home Infusion experience on the provider or payer side preferred
  • Related health care experience with a focus on insurance guidelines and reimbursement; authorization obtainment*
  • Understanding / knowledge of medical terminology; HCPC codes; J codes;
  • Knowledge of third party requirements desirable*
